In the Lviv region, where a triple fatal road accident took place in August, two people died as a result of a collision between a car and an electric train. This is reported by the police of the Lviv region.

“Another passenger and the driver of the car are in intensive care. The traffic accident happened today, October 23, around 00:30 on the Obroshino-Basivka highway in the village of Obroshino, Lviv region. As was previously established by law enforcement officials, the driver of the BMW 530 car, a 20-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv region, collided with the Uzhgorod-Lviv electric train, driven by a 29-year-old resident of Nikolaev, Stryi region, at a regulated level crossing. As a result of the accident, two passengers in the car died on the spot – residents of the district, men aged 20 and 21. The driver of the passenger car and another passenger – a 19-year-old resident of the area – were injured and were placed in intensive care.the message says.

According to the fact, the investigators from the department for the investigation of crimes in the field of transport of the police of the Lviv region initiated criminal proceedings under part 3 of art. 286 (Violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, which caused the death of several persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction under the article provides for a penalty – deprivation of liberty for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive a motor vehicle for a period of up to three years.

As “FACTS” wrote, in December last year there were several accidents at crossings. Thus, the Kyiv-Ivano-Frankivsk train overturned a passenger car at the crossing, and near Kharkiv the train collided with the GAZ-2752 car at the crossing.
