The President of Germany spent almost two hours in a bomb shelter in the Chernihiv region

The President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who was invited by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit Ukraine after the diplomatic scandal in the spring, was hiding in a shelter with Koryukovka residents at the time of the October 25 airstrike in Chernihiv Oblast. Along with Steinmeier, more than three dozen local residents awaited the alarm in the bomb shelter. Journalist Matthias Dies, who is accompanying the president, posted a photo of the bomb shelter on Twitter.

From Kyiv, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany went not to Bucha or Irpin, but to Koryukovka, to honor the memory of nearly seven thousand civilians burned alive here in 1943 by Hungarian punishers fighting on the side of Germany.

We will recall that a few days after Russia’s massive missile attack on Ukraine, Steinmeier canceled his trip to Kyiv for security reasons.

The fact that Steinmeier would arrive in the capital of Ukraine on October 25 was not much publicized. The President of Germany arrived in Kyiv by train. In his compartment, Ukrzaliznytsia officials placed a vase of irises on the table. Thus hinting at the need for the armed forces of Ukraine to supply the German IRIS-T air defense systems. In addition to the issue of the supply of weapons to Ukraine, the German president discussed with Zelensky help to restore Ukraine’s infrastructure destroyed by Russia.

Earlier “FACTS” wrote that anxiety in Ukraine caught the famous Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie when she came to Lviv.
