One bulb and one device: how Ukrainians can help energy companies restore grids

Following the morning’s massive missile strikes on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, energy companies were forced to impose power restrictions in Kyiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkassy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kirovohrad regions.

The company Ukrenergo reports that such user restrictions are necessary to reduce the load on the networks and avoid repeated accidents after the power grids were damaged by terrorist missile attacks. The company’s dispatchers make a decision to temporarily restrict consumers only in case the level of consumption in the region increases, and at the same time it is impossible to deliver more electricity there due to the destruction of power transmission networks caused by Russia.

So now the basic rule of every user should be this – one bulb + 1 devicethat is, in one house or apartment, more than one light bulb and one electrical device cannot be lit at the same time.

In general, try to turn on the lights only in those rooms where there are people at the moment.

Turn off any appliances you are not currently using. The only exception is phone chargers.

Electricity should be consumed sparingly throughout the day and especially during the peak consumption hours – from 6.00 am to 11.00 am and from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm.

“Please do not use energy-intensive electrical appliances, turn off unnecessary lighting, postpone laundry for the night hours. Such measures enable our specialists to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible and carry out the necessary restoration works.” – the energy experts appeal to fellow citizens.

We will remind you that earlier on the network we gave some effective tips on how to heat an apartment without electricity and central heating.
