Killed with a hammer and dismembered: in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a killer took the life of a guest from Nikolaev

In Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk Region, a 54-year-old man beat a 48-year-old woman from Mykolaiv Region to death with a hammer. To hide his crime, the killer dismembered the body and left it in sacks on the bank of a local reservoir.

As reported by police officers from the regional police department in Pavlograd, on October 30, five plastic bags with fragments of a woman’s body were found in a nearby neighborhood of the city. It also turned out that the victim had recently been in a close relationship with a 54-year-old man from Pavlograd.

The man’s apartment was searched, where physical evidence was found. It was established that in mid-October the victim was visiting her husband, where a quarrel arose between them. During the conflict, the suspect hit the woman several times on the head with a hammer and found her dead the next day.

The same day, he took the remains of the corpse to another part of the city by bicycle.

The man was detained pursuant to Art. 208 of the Criminal Code, and the tools of the crime and the material evidence were seized and sent for examination.

On October 31, the investigators, in agreement with the District Prosecutor’s Office, notified the detainee that he was suspected of committing a crime, provided for in Part 1 of Art. 115 (“Deliberate murder”) of the Criminal Code. At the moment, the question of choosing a measure of remand for the suspect is being decided. The maximum penalty provided for in the sanction of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to fifteen years. The investigation continues.
