Military expert Oleg Zhdanov claims that the Russians, who have announced the withdrawal of their troops on the left bank of the Dnieper and the end of the “evacuation” of the residents of Kherson, are planning to set a trap for the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the regional center.
“I call it a ‘foreign flag operation.’ Special forces and paratroopers (disguised in civilian uniforms) make long-term firing points in residential areas and will resist. Everything will be captured on camera, that supposedly civilians are resisting the armed forces of Ukraine”– Zhdanov expressed one of the versions of the events, “UNIAN” reports.
In his opinion, the armed forces of Ukraine will not take over Kherson “in the lead”, and the General Staff will come up with some “insidious plan”.
“Let’s get to Kherson and then see how events will develop.” So far we are moving, we are on the right track. However, our pace is very slow. But thank God there is.”– added the expert.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces neither confirms nor denies the information about the intentions of the Rashists to withdraw their troops from the city on the left bank of the Dnieper. According to the deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff, Alexei Gromov, with their strikes, the Defense Forces caused serious damage to the enemy’s security and logistics system. Russia has no other way out than retreat, he believes, and adds that it is not about another gesture of “good will”, but about the result of the actions of the Ukrainian army.
And adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolk believes that the Russians want to turn Kherson into a “city of death”: “The Russian military will transfer everything they can: apartments, sewage. The left bank artillery plans to reduce the city to ruins. This is what a “Russian measure” looks like: they came, robbed, celebrated, killed “witnesses”, left ruins, left.”
By the way, according to the information of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, in the direction of Kherson since October 1, the advance of our troops in the depth of the enemy’s defense is up to 36.5 km, the total area of the conquered territory reaches 1381 sq. km, restored is the control over 41 settlements.
“Only during the past 24 hours, in the direction of Petropavlovka-Novoraysk, the units of the Defense Forces advanced 7 km, captured 6 settlements and returned up to 107 square km of territory to Ukraine. In the direction of Parvomaiske-Kherson, we advanced 7 kilometers, captured 6 settlements, the area of liberated land is 157 square kilometers.he added.
