“Immoral compromises will lead to new bloodshed”: Zelensky on Russia’s attempts to achieve a ceasefire

the russian federation is now looking for a brief truce to restore forces, so it’s not really going to end the war that way.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address to the participants of the International Security Forum in Halifax.

“The end of war alone does not guarantee peace. Now Russia wants a short truce, a break to regain strength. Some may call it the end of the war, but such a break will only make things worse.” – said the head of state of Ukraine.

He stressed that any thought of concessions on our territory or sovereignty cannot be considered peace.

“Amoral compromises will lead to new bloodshed. True, lasting and open peace can only result from the complete destruction of Russian aggression.” Zelensky noted.

The head of state reminded the participants of the forum about the 10-point peace plan proposed by Ukraine.

“Peace is possible, but for its existence we must make impossible all the components of Russian aggression. Let’s do this. Let peace reign” – stressed the Ukrainian leader.

We recall that earlier the head of state called very important the first sentence against the killers who destroyed the Malaysian Boeing in the sky over Donbas in 2014. According to the Ukrainian leader, this is the “original crime” about which Russia lied a lot.
