Yevgeny Prigozhin, who has repeatedly criticized Russian commanders for certain decisions during the special operation, supported the commander of the Russian group Sergei Surovikin. At the same time, Prigogine noted that “this is not a victorious step in this war.”
– It is important not to agonize, not to fight in paranoia, but to draw conclusions and work on mistakes. And then let’s find out who is right, who is guilty and what is the essence of the problem,” said the head of the PMC in response to an inquiry by the RIA Novosti agency.
– The decision made by Surovikin is not easy, but he acted as a person who is not afraid of responsibility. I did it organized, without fear, taking upon myself the fullness of decision-making,” noted Prigogine.
At the same time, he explained that Surovikin had to take another important step – “to withdraw the troops and save a thousand soldiers who are actually surrounded in enemy territory, which is completely cut off from supply routes.” And the operation to withdraw the troops will be extremely difficult.
“The withdrawal of the troops with minimal losses is the greatest achievement that Surovikin will have to do, it does not honor the Russian weapon, but emphasizes the personal qualities of the commander,” Prigozhin believes.
According to the head of PMC “Wagner”, when Surovikin was appointed to this position, he was aware that difficult decisions would have to be made regarding Kherson (which he spoke about in his first television appearance after his appointment). At the same time, he “knows very well what steps will be in the future,” says Prigogine.
