An entire village with residential buildings, a church and a school is for sale in Spain. Interestingly, its price is currently equal to a one-bedroom apartment in a neighboring city.

Hundreds of potential buyers responded to the ad, including Russians.

The village of Salto de Castro, located in the western part of the country near the border with Portugal, was acquired by its current owner in the early 2000s. The man, who turned 80 this year, dreamed of turning the village into a tourist Mecca, but it didn’t work out.

Time passed, the owner of the village became old, and with him 44 houses, a church, a school, public buildings, among which there is even a swimming pool, a hotel and a barracks, were abandoned.

Previously, the owner tried to make money from the sale and the price of Salto de Castro was 6.5 million euros, but there was no interest from buyers and since no one lived in the village for more than 30 years, everything gradually fell into complete decline.

According to the owner of the settlement, over 300 people responded to the ad in a short time, including Russians. In addition, the owner claims that he has already received a down payment. True, who is the buyer – he does not want to say.
