The regional administration reports an increase in the activity of the people’s detachments. The day before, on November 10, at a solemn event dedicated to the Day of an employee of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation, Andrey Nikitin, governor of the Novgorod region, spoke about measures to support volunteers who provide assistance to law enforcement officers.
According to the head of the region, taking into account the increased workload of the employees of the internal affairs bodies, measures will be taken in the near future to strengthen the activities of the people’s detachments.
“We will increase payments for the participation of people’s fighters in events to protect public order. More than 30 million rubles will be allocated from the regional budget of local authorities, where detachments were created in 2023. I am sure that the fighters will make a worthy contribution to maintaining order on the streets of our cities and villages,” said Andrey Nikitin.
The governor also congratulated the Novgorod policemen on the holiday, noted their high professionalism, as well as the reduction of crime in the region in many areas. Thus, serious and especially serious crimes, fraud, crimes against the person, and street crime are reduced. During the year, it was possible to prevent extremist and terrorist acts, gross violations of public order, high-level crimes.
In addition, the head of the region said that the leadership of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared additional proposals to improve the law enforcement system in the region. In the near future, they will be considered at a meeting of the regional Duma deputies.
