The governor of the Novgorod region, Andrey Nikitin, spoke on social networks about the visit of the rector of the Higher School of Economics, Nikita Anisimova, to Veliky Novgorod.
During the summer of SPIEF, Novgorod Region signed a cooperation agreement with the Higher School of Economics. The speech in the document was about joint work in the research and educational sphere.
“Now HSE is not just economics. You have developed competencies in the field of artificial intelligence, including those related to smart electronics. Here we have a large field of interaction. Novgorod Oblast wants to become a leader in education in the Northwest. That is why competences in the field of HSE and joint projects are very important for us”, said Andrey Nikitin.
The rector of the Higher School of Economics said that NovSU and HSE are ready to launch a dual program for economics students.
“NovSU students will have the opportunity to obtain a degree from the Graduate School of Economics without leaving the region. And in 2027, we will hand out the first diplomas. Of course, before that we have to go through official procedures, economic approvals, but in principle we have already agreed with colleagues that next year a group of students will be recruited who will immediately study according to HSE standards here in the Novgorod region, “, said Nikita Anisimov.
According to the Information Policy Department of the Novgorod Region Governor’s Administration, the rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics also emphasized that the Novgorod Higher Engineering School will become the center of many joint projects. The school will be supported by employees of federal centers for artificial intelligence.
“Our joint projects will provide significant added value to NovSU’s engineering developments. I am absolutely convinced that this will be the result of a completely correct bet on the development of human capital. We are ready to support Novgorod Oblast,” concluded Nikita Anisimov.
Recall that since the spring of this city, the former deputy governor of the Novgorod region, Veronika Minina from Novgorod, became the deputy rector of the HSE.
