From November 18 to November 24, the second stage of the first international festival “Arctic Stage” (12+) will be held in all theaters of the city. It began in May with a competition between theater groups from the Murmansk Region. Their 17 performances were then evaluated by experts at the federal level. The winner among the self-made collectives was the people’s self-made theater “Audacity” of the City Palace of Culture in Kirov. Among the professional teams, the jury could not choose a winner. First degree diplomas were awarded to the performances “Masquerade” (12+) and “Father. Adagio” (16+) at the Murmansk Drama Theater and “Fog Over the Bay” (12+) at the Theater of the Northern Fleet.
At the second international stage of the festival, artists from professional theaters in Murmansk and a children’s theater school will compete in mastery with actors from Petrozavodsk, Arkhangelsk, Ryazan, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Mogilev and Minsk.
On November 19, the Children’s Theater School will present the play “The Children of the Military Moorman” (12+), and the Theater of the Northern Fleet will present “Queen of Spades” (12+). On November 20, the puppet theater will present the performance “Dr. Chekhov’s Bag” (16+), and the drama theater on November 23 – “On the Volga to Kherson” (16+).
14 performances will be judged by famous Russian actors, directors, teachers, theater critics, teachers, choreographers and vocalists. During the festival, in addition to competition performances, there will be meetings of actors and directors with spectators and journalists, classes and discussions for the participants of the festival.
