Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the country’s military to increase combat capability and be ready for military operations.
“It is necessary to strengthen the comprehensive training of the armed forces, to ensure their readiness for combat operations,” China Central Television quoted the country’s leader as saying.
According to the Chinese head of state, the world is currently experiencing “unprecedented changes” that increase instability and uncertainty. In this situation, the security of the People’s Republic of China is threatened, so all efforts of the People’s Liberation Army of China must be directed towards improving their ability to defeat and carry out the tasks set by the Communist Party as effectively as possible.
Jinping’s statement was made during an inspection of the Joint Operations Command Center of the Central Military Commission.
The politician later repeated his words in an interview with China Central Television, stressing that the Republic’s armed forces must be ready at any moment to repel potential threats.
